Advanced Camps

These advanced summer performance intensives are an excellent opportunity for students to increase their performance skill level, while learning in a fun, safe environment.  All classes feature quality, university-level instruction in the new state-of-the-art Theatre Building on campus at UCF.

Musical Theatre Intensive – NEW

June 18-22 | 9am – 2pm

Tuition: $215

Explore and improve your acting, singing, and dance techniques in this new skills-based, weeklong intensive. This week is designed for the serious-minded student who wants to develop strong technique while being challenged by a professional music director and choreographer. Participants receive training in voice and dance and gain new insight into musical theatre performance.  Class size is limited.

Acting Intensive – NEW

June 25-29 | 9am – 2pm

Tuition: $215

Explore and improve your acting technique in this new skills-based, weeklong intensive. This week is designed for the serious-minded student interested in developing strong technique while being challenged by professional instructors. Participants receive training in classical and contemporary text analysis, voice and diction, and movement. Class size is limited.

Production Camp

The Bully Plays

July 23-August 4 | 9am – 2pm – Performance: August 4 at 1pm

Grades: Rising 6th – 10th

Tuition: $300

After the success of last year’s production of Eat (It’s Not About Food), The REP continues its commitment to presenting plays that focus on the social issues and experiences of young people. This collection of short plays is touching, imaginative, funny, powerful, and uplifting.  Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to explore drama through what’s happening around you today. An audition is required.

Summer Stock Production – STATE FAIR

Rising 7th – Graduating 12th grade students

Rehearsals: Monday – Friday, June 11 – July 13 | 2:30pm – 6:30pm

Tech Rehearsals: July 14 – 19 | Hours TBA

Performance: July 20 – August 5

Tuition: $475

Rodgers & Hammerstein’s only musical written directly for the screen is now a stage musical that’s had critics raving from coast to coast. Set against the colorful backdrop of an American heartland tradition, STATE FAIR travels with the Frake family as they leave behind the routine of the farm for three days of adventure at the annual Iowa State Fair. Mom and Pop have their hearts set on blue ribbons while their daughter and son find romance and heartbreak on the midway. Set to the magical strains of an Academy Award-winning score and augmented by other titles from the Rodgers and Hammerstein songbook, STATE FAIR is the kind ofwarm-hearted family entertainment only Rodgers & Hammerstein could deliver! An audition is required for this production.

Design and Tech Academy

Rising 7th – Graduating 12th grade students

Rehearsals: Monday – Friday, June 18 – July 13 | 2:30pm – 6:30pm

Performance: July 20 – August 5

Tuition: $300

Learn the industry secrets of technical theatre, design, and stage management. This exciting and unique camp provides practical knowledge in a wide variety of technical areas, including scenic design and construction, stage lighting, sound design, property design and construction, costuming, and stage management. Taught by experienced, Orlando-area professionals, this hands-on summer intensive features seminars in technical production, design, and portfolio-building. In addition, students acquire practical experience guided by professional technicians in The REP’s scenery and costume shops, learning a multitude of useful skills. In an exclusive arrangement, participants in this extraordinary camp tour local attractions and receive special, behind-the-scenes experiences. This not-to-be-missed professional learning experience culminates with applied work on The REP Summer Stock Production of STATE FAIR.

*An interview for the Design & Tech Academy is required.

Interviews are the week of May 7. The camp is limited to 12 participants and is open to students interested in any area of technical theatre, stage management, and design. If possible, please bring your portfolio (not required) to the interview. Auditions

Auditions for STATE FAIR are Saturday, April 14. Auditions for The Bully Plays are Saturday, May 12 from 1pm-5pm.

Please call 407.896.7365 x219 to schedule an appointment.

For STATE FAIR auditions, please prepare a one-minute, memorized comedic monologue, and 16 bars of a musical theatre song. Students must bring either the sheet music or an instrumental track on a CD or iPod. Students are discouraged from singing acapella. For The Bully Plays, please prepare a one-minute, memorized comedic monologue.
