Free and Cheap Events

 

If you’re looking for ways to get creative on the cheap, you’ve got quite a few options this week:

  • Over the next two weeks, you can stop by a participating Disney store for Brave Adventure in-store events. The in-store activities will take place from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 30. Times vary for Friday & Sunday events, which will take place on June 29 & July 1, 2012.
  • This week, you can participate in free & cheap crafts & demos at Michaels:
    • 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. on June 28: Passport to Imagination: Madagascar. Ages 3+
    • 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. on June 30: Passport to Imagination: Canada. Ages 3+
    • 5:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. on June 30: Ruffle Yarn Demo. Adult-only event
  • The free Family Summer Camp will take place at participating Bass Pro Shops locations from 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday through July 15. Details may vary by location, but most will have the following:
    • There’ll be a free shooting range (youth bow, soft-strike foam bow, or BB gun), free shooting arcade, & free casting targets.
    • From 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. on Tuesday & Thursday, and 1:00-4:00 p.m. on Saturday & Sunday, you can make a free craft. On June 26 & 28, you can create your own Catch-a-Fish game, and on June 30 and July 1, 3, & 5, you can paint a bear track.
    • From 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. on Saturday & Sunday, you can get a free family photo.
    • From 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. on Saturdays only, stop by for a free S’mores cookout.
  • From 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. on June 30, kids can make a Star-Spangled Shaker during the free crafts at Lakeshore Learning Stores. Bonus: Lakeshore Learning has a coupon on its site good for $5 off a $25+ purchase. Per the tiny type, the coupon expires June 30, 2012.
  • On Sunday, July 1, head to Williams-Sonoma for a American All-Stars class & learn how to create delicious side dishes and desserts to accompany your Fourth of July celebration. Times vary by location; RSVP to your local store.
