About this Race

Everyone Runs Faster in the Dark!

Who says health and wellness can’t be fun? Join us for Lake Nona’s sixth annual 5K, now at night! Say goodbye to early morning pre-race alarm clocks and say hello to a Saturday night celebration of healthy living.

It’s Illuminating.

The 3.1 mile race will be set in the heart of Lake Nona’s Medical City, Laureate Park. As the sun sets, you’ll run, walk or stroll an electric course through the master-planned community.
Lake Nona and the Lake Nona Institute operate with the belief that communities that make active choices together have a profound impact on individual health and wellness. So, why not grab your family, friends, and neighbors and meet us in Laureate Park, Lake Nona’s newest neighborhood, for a glowing evening of running, music, food, festivities, and –of course— lots and lots of lights!

It’s a Block Party.

You’re at Lake Nona, you’re being active, so why not celebrate? The 5K will end at the entrance of a block party filled with delicious food, fabulous music, and incredible lights.
If you aren’t running this year, but want to cheer on a loved one, we welcome you to join in the fun! The Nemours Kid’s run and Kid’s zone will occupy your littlest runners with activities geared specifically to engage them in a night of activity.
We won’t be surprised if you fall head over heels—hopefully after the run—for Laureate Park. You can tour our model homes designed exclusively for Lake Nona, and see the latest in sustainable and healthy designs.

Bicycles, roller skates, in-line skates, and dogs will be prohibited from the race course. The use of headphones is discouraged. Runners and walkers with baby joggers or strollers must start behind designated stroller signage and are required to maintain a 12 minute per mile pace or slower; if pace not maintained, you will not be allowed to participate with a stroller in future events.
